John Cena Glows About Daniel Bryan's Fight to Return to WWE

After nursing his injuries, Bryan returned to the ring, winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 31 in a career threatening ladder match.

Daniel Bryan joins Jonathan Coachman to discuss when he knew he had to retire due to concussions, the issues that he suffers from and the message he wants to give young athletes about protecting themselves from head trauma.

"I have loved this (pro wrestling) in a way that I have never loved anything else", he said during his retirement speech on the February 8, 2016 episode of "Raw".

"She's the one who encouraged me to go see specialists", said Bryan, the on-screen "SmackDown Live" general manager.

Bryan's comeback means there is a possibility the 36-year-old could make his return as early as WrestleMania 34 on Sunday, April 8 in New Orleans. He made a name for himself all over the world, in companies including Ring of Honor, and Bryan ultimately became recognized as one of the most skilled technical wrestlers in the world.

Bryan got a leg up the following year when he was signed into the World Wrestling Federation's development system.

The assumption is that WWE pulled the trigger on giving him medical clearance because they needed him to compete alongside Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. In an Interview with TMZ, Cena expressed how Bryan's return made him feel. Meltzer noted that Bryan asked Maroon who he considered the top concussion experts in the country, apparently so he could work to get cleared by them. His last hurdle, which seemed like one that might never be cleared, was getting approved by the WWE's own doctors to return to the ring. Owens admitted they weren't originally going to attend the show with McMahon no longer in charge as commissioner, but when they heard the news Bryan was returning, they just had to rush over to the arena. The moments he brought up Brie were especially emotional and just helped prove how important she is to him and how much he wanted to be able to get back in the ring. Daniel Bryan has always been one of my favorite wrestlers, and you never want to see a wrestler's career come to an end before they are ready. But the numbers game caught up with the former WWE Champion and Zayn hit a Helluva kick on Bryan before Owens delivered a powerbomb on the apron.

We can't wait to see him back in the ring again.
