No Criminal Charges in the Investigation into the Death of Prince

Prince investigation evidence released to public

Newly released investigative material in the probe into Prince's death includes several police videos showing the singer's body on the floor near an elevator inside his Paisley Park estate.

Almost two years after his death, images of Prince and Paisley Park during his final days were released after Carver County authorities announced Thursday that there would be no criminal charges in his death. At the time, Johnson told hospital staff that Prince might have taken Percocet. Schulenberg also ran unspecified tests on Prince and showed up at Paisley Park on the day Prince died.

The next morning, phone messages showed the doctor texting Johnson: "I have records and test results".

A couple of associates said they had noticed changes in Prince's demeanor and behavior. No one will be criminally charged.

The US attorney's office also said it had no credible evidence that would lead to federal criminal charges. A federal investigation is now inactive unless new information comes forward. Schulenberg provided a prescription for clonidine, a blood pressure medication used to treat opioid withdrawal symptoms and an antihistamine similar to Benadryl.

CNN Uses Sean Hannity Story To Give Lessons In Honest Journalism
Earlier this month, Carrey tweeted a drawing of Hannity as a WWE wrestler , as part of his recent spate of political art. On Monday evening, Hannity downplayed the legal relationship, saying, "Cohen never represented me in any legal matter".

Dr Schulenberg admitted no liability as part of the settlement and has maintained he did not prescribe drugs to anyone with the intention they be redirected to Prince.

Almost two million Americans abused or were addicted to prescription opioids, including oxycodone, in 2014.

Metz said several pills were found at the Paisley Park complex after Prince died, and some were later determined to be counterfeit.

They added that they could not determine who had provided the powerful drug that killed the musician, who was then aged 57.

The likelihood of people buying pain pills on the street or online that turn out to be counterfeits laced with fentanyl is "extremely high", said Traci Green, a Boston University Medical Center epidemiologist who focuses on the opioid epidemic.
