Trump backs Roseanne in Twitter race row

'Roseanne' cancelled after Barr makes ’bad joke’ about Obama aide

Donald Trump has weighed in on the Roseanne Barr controversy by calling out Disney CEO Bob Iger.

"Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologise for the terrible statements made and said about me on ABC".

When asked if he might get his own show, he said, "You've heard more than I have". Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

One post she retweeted read: 'BREAKING: According to sources ABC President Channing Dungey had a long conversation via phone with former First Lady Michelle Obama before deciding to cancel the Roseanne show.

Barr was sacked after she sent a series of racist tweets Tuesday about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Barack Obama.

EW said that "Iger apologized and said he would not tolerate those kinds of comments made by Barr, Jarrett said".

The comedy actress - whose eponymous sitcom has been cancelled by US TV network ABC - wrote on the micro-blogging platform: "I think Joe Rogan is right about Ambien".

The president's intervention came as Barr blamed her "Roseanne" co-workers for the axing of the sitcom. Comedian Wanda Sykes, who served as a consulting producer during Season 1, announced she would not return to the series. "I am disappointed in her actions to say the least". "I'm exhausted of being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse".

After initially posting that she would be quitting Twitter, Barr went on to post a flurry of messages on the site. Sanofi, the company that makes Ambien, issued a statement that said: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication".

Barr ended her most recent string of tweets by writing, "I end by offering everyone involved one more apology and prayers for healing of our divided nation".

"I just wish ABC had not thrown two of the greatest actors in the world out with me-Laurie and John", Roseanne tweeted.

"It's not that I disrespect you guys", he politely told the videographer. It was egregious indefensible.
