Russians Accused of Hacking Democrats in 2016 US Election

Mueller departs after briefing members of the U.S. Senate on his investigation into potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign on Capitol Hill in Washington DC

Targeting Rosenstein, who is overseeing the special counsel Robert Mueller in the Russian Federation investigation, could jeopardize that investigation.

Revealing so much "says just how serious this is, and how important it is to acknowledge that Russian Federation hacked the U.S.to aid Trump and hurt Clinton", Weaver said.

The Kremlin, meanwhile, denied anew that it tried to sway the election.

A dozen Russian intelligence officers have been indicted for allegedly trying to interfere with 2016 election.

But the indictment identifies the defendants as officers with Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, also known as GRU. Throughout at least March and April there were repeated efforts to break into about 120 Democratic National Committee, Clinton and left-leaning activists' accounts across the country.

Connecting the dots, one can assume that the candidate seeking and receiving the "stolen documents' was a member of the Republican party, considering the fact that the Mueller investigation has only indicated that Guccifer 2.0 released stolen material from the DNC and Clinton Campaign. Time for Mueller to end this pursuit of the President and say President Trump is completely innocent", Giuliani said in his tweet. Some in the indictments also hacked into state election board databases.

The indictments were announced Friday by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as part of the ongoing special counsel probe into potential coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. "Free and fair elections are hard-fought and contentious and there will always be adversaries who work to exacerbate domestic differences and try to confuse, divide and conquer us". The White House seized on those points in a statement that offered no condemnation of Russian election interference. "There is no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime".

Rosenstein said "the conspirators corresponded with several Americans during the course of the conspiracy through the internet".

Tens of thousands return home after southern Syria ceasefire deal
A ceasefire agreement has been reached with leaders of armed groups in Syria's Deraa province, Russia's Defense Ministry has said. The Norwegian Refugee Council has called this the largest displacement of Syria's seven-year war.

The special counsel investigation has produced more than 100 criminal counts against 32 people and three companies, according to a count from The New York Times. They are accused of taking part in a hidden but powerful social media campaign to influence public opinions in America before the November 2016 elections.

If the involvement of the GRU officers in the hacking effort is proved, it would shatter the Kremlin denials of the Russian state's involvement in the USA elections.

"I love the United States", Trump continued.

"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing", Trump said.

A few hours before the indictments were announced, Trump described the Mueller investigation as a "rigged witch hunt" that is hurting the United States relationship with Russian Federation. The ministry says "obviously, the objective of this is to spoil the atmosphere" before Monday's summit between President Vladimir Putin and President Trump in Helsinki, Finland.

"The last indictment of Russians involved the so-called troll factories and online bot farms that were causing issues on Twitter", said John Bambenek, vice president at security firm ThreatStop Inc.

At the same press conference, Trump appeared to directly call upon Russian intelligence services to hack the former secretary of state's email account and to publish any information they stole as a part of their cyber-espionage operations within the 2016 presidential elections.
